Diaspora: A Conversation On Modern Soul Food
2nd Chapter: March 27th at 7pm at Ida B's Table
A Chef's Dinner Series on the African Diaspora Featuring Mera Kitchen Collective & Tenth Harvest

This is the second chapter of a monthly series featuring Chopped Champion David Thomas. Five course meal with wine pairings selected by Chef David Thomas, and bar manager Alex Dang, provided by Tenth Harvest. This month we welcome the incredible people behind the Mera Kitchen Collective into our kitchen for an amazing spread of African with a Modern Soul twist.

Mera Kitchen Collective is a community-driven, food-based cooperative focused on empowerment of refugee and immigrant women by tapping into their passion for cooking, self-expression and creating community.

To find out more about the Mera Kitchen Collective, visit their site https://www.mera.kitchen

A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the Mera Kitchen Collective

This series focuses on a journey through the African diaspora. Through Chef David Thomas's research, he has found that there is a story behind every dish. Chef's Thomas's mission is to show soul food in a different light and to cook it in the reverence that it is due.

Ida B's Table shows off soul food in this way, but in our daily operation, we are not able to branch out, collaborate, and experiment as much as we would like. This series is an opportunity to have conversations, learn, and listen to the African diaspora through the creations of Chef David Thomas and this time the Mera Kitchen Collective.
